Practical Beekeeping - Workshop and Field Experience!
AM session will cover basics. We will take a break, put on suits and jackets, light smokers, and then go work bees together from noon-2pm!

About the event
AM session will cover basics. We will take a break, put on suits and jackets, light smokers, and then go work bees together from noon-2pm! Naturally there will be time for some Q&A after and maybe even some equipment/supplies left that you'd like to buy! Please note, that I will not be going TOO deep in the historical aspects of beekeeping, or the super specific biological aspects of it. But we will cover basic terminology wich will be great for beginniers, followed by pest management, and some innovative/product demonstrations, and swarms and splits summary. We will take a well needed break while we "suite up" and work our way outside into my education apiary in order to learn how to light smokers, pop some lids and do inspections, mite counts, and more! A full suite is HIGHLY RECOMENDED so if you don't have one, you may have to step back away from the bees. If you don't have at least a jacket and veil, you will only be able to observe at a distance. Lastly, you can rent a suit for $50 or buy a suite or jacket. Just get with me ahead of time if at all possible! :-)

Allows entry for one (1) participant. If no protective wear is arranged/rented/brought ahead of time, the PM half of the workshop in the field (with live bees) portion of the training will be unavailable to you. If available, you may purchase or rent a suite at the time of the class, but if they are unavailable, you will be unable to attend this portion. No refund or partial refund will be allowed for failing to arrange appropriate protective wear or if you are unable to attend.
