About the event

Assumptions - you have a basic, working knowledge of beekeeping, even if new to beekeeping, and you have bees OR you attended a beginning beekeeping class or session prior (separate fee).


General Topics and Agenda as follows:


1-1:30 pm to prepare for getting into hives, light smokers, go over inspection and techniques, and enter the bee yard*

*PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE A BEE SUIT OR ARRANGE TO BORROW ONE!

1:30-2 pm Initial inspection will be done together, with focus on techniques, what to look for, and when to call for assistance from instructors and helpers

2-3pm Hive inspections - you will be assigned a beehive to inspect using techniques and tools you've learned
